Day 01: Arrival in Delhi
On arrival at New Delhi International Airport, a representative from Shakti India Tours will receive you with a warm welcome and transfer you to the pre-booked hotel. Freshen up and relax. Later, join the briefing session, where you will get important details about the tour. Spend the rest of the day at leisure or enjoy activities of your interest. You can explore popular monuments and attractions of Delhi, including markets. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel in Delhi.
Day 02: Delhi – Leh, Ladakh
Get an early morning transfer to the Delhi Airport to board a flight to Leh, Ladakh. On arrival at the Leh Airport, our representative will transfer you to the pre-booked hotel. Freshen up and unwind yourself in the hotel room. Post lunch, embark on a sightseeing tour in Leh. Visit the Leh Palace—the former residence of the royalty of Leh, Hall of Fame—a museum built and maintained by the Indian Army and Shanti Stupa— a white-domed Buddhist Chorten. Enjoy the wonderful view of the surroundings and have a leisure walk in the market. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 03: Leh – Hemis Festival & Excursion to Monasteries
Have a very hearty breakfast at the hotel. Thereafter, visit the Hemis Monastery to enjoy the festivities. The Hemis Monastery is the largest and richest monastery in India. It hosts the popular Hemis Festival every year. Enjoy the Chaam, a sacred masked dance being performed by the Lamas, along with musical drums and long horns. Shop for souvenirs from the temporary market stalls. Later, visit the Shey Gompa— housing a huge statue of seated Buddha, this monastery is located within the Shey Palace and later the Thiksey Gompa—a Tibetan Buddhist monastery belonging to the (Gelugpa) sect, it has an architecture similar to Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 04: Excursion to Pangong Lake
Post breakfast, take an excursion to Pangong Lake (4350 meters), via Chang La (5360 meters), the world’s third-highest motorable road in the world. Carry packed lunch. On arrival at the Pangong Lake, admire the beautiful surrounding views of the snow-capped mountains. Return to hotel in Leh on time. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 05: Excursion to Khardung La Top
Take your breakfast and then drive towards Khardung la (5359 meters), famed as the highest motorable road, around 39 km from the main town of Leh. Once you reach the top, treat your eyes to the surrounding local scenery. Return to lunch and have your lunch at the hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. In the evening, explore the local markets. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 06: Leh – Delhi – Departure
On the last day of the Ladakh Tour with Hemis Festival, a representative from Shakti India Tours will transfer you to the airport to board a flight back to Delhi. In Delhi, board a flight for your onward destination. The tour ends.
