Itinerary
New Delhi/Jaipur to Agra
Upon arrival at Delhi Airport or Railway Station, you will be met by Shakti India Tours Representative who will pick you up and drive to Agra. The city of Taj, Agra is famous for the glorious Taj Mahal, majestic Agra Fort, and quaint-looking Tomb of Itimad-Ud-Daulah. All three are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. After reaching Agra, our tour representative will assist you to visit all the major tourist attractions of Agra City. You will be taken on a guided tour of Agra.
Sikandra Fort
Start the trip by exploring Sikandra Fort which is the tomb of Mughal emperor- Akbar. Located 13 km from Agra. The ironic part of this fort was that the Akbar himself started the construction of his tomb which was completed later by his son Jahangir.
Taj Mahal
Taj Mahal is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan in memory of his better half. It took 22 years to build this magnificent monument and about 20,000 laborers toiled hard to give it an elegant touch. The monument was built entirely of white marble and a whopping Rs. 32 million were spent in the construction of this seventh wonder of the world.
Agra Fort
After visiting the Taj Mahal, visit Agra Fort which is also known as Red Fort. Next, visit the Agra Fort also known as the Red Fort as the latter is comprised of red sandstone. The fort covers an area of 2.5 Km and within the fort’s premises, there is Khas Mahal, Jahangir Palace, audience halls, and two holy mosques.
Tomb of Itimad-Ud-Daulah
Thereafter, visit the Tomb of Itimad-Ud-Daulah which is popularly known as the Baby Taj. Made of white marble with magnificent inlay works and carvings, this mausoleum is a forerunner to the Taj Mahal.
Fatehpur Sikri
Fatehpur Sikri was built by Mughal Emperor Akbar and was one of his most loved places. We proceed to Fatehpur Sikri after lunch, and it takes us around one hour to reach the Ghost City which is situated at a distance of 45 km from Agra.After a sightseeing tour of Agra, you will be driven to New Delhi by road. Shakti India Tours Representative will transfer you to a hotel or drop you at Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey.
