Itinerary
Destinations Covered: Delhi - Amritsar
Day 01: Delhi – Amritsar
Early morning train for Amritsar from Delhi. Shakti India Tours Representative will drop you at Delhi railway station to board the train for Amritsar. After approximately 6 hours journey you will reach Amritsar. Upon arrival meet our tour representative who will welcome you and transfer you to the pre-booked hotel. Freshen up and have your lunch at the hotel. After this proceed to Wagah Border where you will see the retreat border ceremony. The flag ceremony here takes place every day before sunset. This daily military ritual has been practiced by both India and Pakistan – the Border Security Force and the Pakistan Rangers – since 1959. The spectacle ends with the folding of flags, followed by a curt handshake between opposing soldiers and the closing of the gates.
Then you will head to Golden Temple to take blessings of Sri Harmandir Sahib. At the Golden Temple, set amid a pool of holy water, visitors and devotees from all faiths are welcome. You’ll get a glimpse of the Sikh temple tradition of offering daily Guru-Ka-Langar – a free, community meal that began in the 16th century. As you watch the community kitchen feed up to 10,000 people, learn about this Sikh principle of equality and the practice of eating together.
After this, Shakti India Tours Representative will drop you at the hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 02: Amritsar – Delhi
Have a very hearty breakfast at the hotel and then embark on a sightseeing tour of Amritsar. You will enjoy a guided tour of Amritsar and you will visit Jalianwala Bagh, Maharaja Ranjit Singh Museum. Then, the representative of Shakti India Tours will drop you at Railway Station to board your train for Delhi. Upon arrival, our tour representative will transfer you to the hotel or Airport for your onward destination.
