Itinerary
Destinations Covered: Chennai (2Nts) – Mahabalipuram (1Nt) – Tanjore (1Nt) – Madurai (2Nts)
Day 01: Arrival in Chennai
Upon arrival in Chennai, Shakti India Tours Representative will receive you and transfer you to the pre-booked hotel, accommodated for an overnight stay. Freshen up and take a rest then drive to Kapeeleshwara Temple. the Parthasarathy Temple portrays tales from the great Indian epic, Mahabharata. Then, visit The National Art Gallery, Fort Museum, and Santhorne Church. Evening walk at Marina Beach. On-time return to the hotel.
Day 02: Chennai - Kanchipuram – Mahabalipuram
Have a very hearty breakfast at the hotel and head towards the temple city of Kanchipuram. Visit Vaikuntha Peruma temple. While the three ‘garbagriha’ represent the typical South Indian temple structure, the sculptures of the shrine are rare, narrating the history of the Pallava dynasty. You also visit the Varatharaja Temple, Kailasanatha Temple, and Ekambareswara Temple. Your next destination is the land of excavated temples, Mahabalipuram. After reaching check-in at the pre-booked hotel accommodated for overnight stay.
Day 03: Mahabalipuram - Pondichery – Tanjore
Post your breakfast head to Tanjore. En-route visiting Pondicherry, the cloak of universal brotherhood. Churches of Pondicherry, Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Gandhi Statue, Auroville, and the French Colony of Pondicherry. Carry on the drive to Tanjore. Upon arrival meet our tour representative who will assist you in the check-in procedure at the hotel. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 04: Tanjore - Trichy – Madurai
After having a very hearty South Indian breakfast at the hotel proceed for a sightseeing tour of Tanjore. Explore the sacred Tanjore paintings and The Brihadeeswarar Temple – the heart of Tamil architecture. Later you will be driven to Madurai, en-route visiting Trichy, another marvel of South Indian architecture. Later in the day, you begin your journey to Madurai, En-route visit to Trichy, another marvel of South Indian architecture. Visit the Srirangam temple, the Rock Fort Temple, and the Ucchi Pillayar Vinayaka Temple. Continue drive to Madurai. After reaching check-in at the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 05: Madurai
After breakfast, visit the Meenakshi Temple. This 2000-year-old shrine surprises tourists with its majestic towers and gourami; the temple is a city in itself. The epitome of Dravidian architectural style, the Hall of Pillars is surprising as you get a straight view of the pillars from every angle; every pillar creates a different melody when tapped. After checking out the Thirumalai Nayak’s Palace and Gandhi Museum and night ceremony of Madurai temple you return to the hotel for a night stay.
Day 06: Madurai – Chennai
After breakfast, our representative will drop you at Madurai Airport to board a flight for Chennai. Upon arrival check-in at the hotel. You can spend your day doing shopping at local markets. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 07: Chennai – Departure
After breakfast, Shakti India Tours Representative will drop you at Chennai Airport to board your flight home.
