Itinerary
Destinations Covered: Chennai (2 Nt) – Madurai (1Nt) – Periyar (1 Nt) – Kumarakom (1Nt) – Kochi (2Nt)
Day 01: Arrival in Chennai
On arrival at Chennai International Airport, Shakti India Tours representative will meet and greet you. You will be transferred to the pre-booked hotel. After resting for a while in the hotel, you can explore some nearby attractions. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 02: Chennai Sightseeing
Have a very hearty breakfast at the hotel. Embark on a full-day sightseeing tour. The tour will cover key attractions like Fort St. George, Kapaleeshwar Temple, Saint Thomas Church, Parthasarathy Temple, Government Museum, Valluvar Kottam, Vadapalani Murugan Temple and, Marina Beach. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 03: Chennai – Madurai
On the third day of South India Cultural Tour, after breakfast, take a flight for Madurai, a holy city in Tamil Nadu, famous for the Meenakshi Amman Temple. On arrival, you will get an assisted check-in at your hotel. After some relax. Proceed to visit the Meenakshi Temple. Constructed on the banks of a lotus pond, it consists of a unique thousand pillared hall. The pillars look straight, seen from any angle and when tapped, creates musical notes. You will also attend the evening aarti. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 04: Madurai – Periyar
Have a very hearty breakfast at the hotel in Madurai. Thereafter, checkout from the hotel and drive to Periyar in Kerala. On arrival in Periyar, you will be transferred to the hotel. After some relax at the hotel, you will be taken to a trip to the Periyar National Park. The wildlife reserve is home to rich flora and fauna. Here, you can see various species of wildlife such as, tigers, deer, and leopards. The sanctuary is also home to over 26 species of birds. Also, enjoy the boat ride on the Periyar Lake that will give you wonderful view of the sanctuary. Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 05: Periyar – Kumarakom
After breakfast, check out from the hotel in Periyar. Drive to Kumarakom. Kumarakom is one of famous destinations in Kerala and South India. It is known for breathtaking beautiful backwaters, houseboats, and Vembanad Lake— the largest lake of fresh water. Upon arrival, check-in at the pre-booked hotel and spend rest of the day in leisure. In the evening enjoy sunset while on a cruise in the Vembanad Lake. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 06: Kumarakom – Alleppey – Kochi
Take your breakfast and drive to Alleppey. Explore beautiful backwaters and surroundings in Alleppey, also called Alappuzha. From Alleppey, you will be transferred to Kochi. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel in Kochi.
Day 07: Kochi
Have a very hearty breakfast at the hotel and then proceed for Kochi sightseeing tour. Main attractions are Bolgatty Palace, Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Chinese fishing nets, and spice market. Also, you will attend the Kathakali dance performance. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel.
Day 08: Kochi – Onward
On the last day of South India Cultural Tour after breakfast, Shakti India Tours representative will help you checkout from the hotel and transfer you to the airport to board a flight for your onward journey. The tour ends.
